It's been a while....

I'm back! In a figurative sense, of course, as CAS work never stops. Ironically, this fact is not obvious as my pending list of "posts" are just that; pending. Sometimes I wish my CAS life scribed itself, but instead I will have to set aside time for such reflections somewhere inbetween school, ultimate, cross-country, tutoring, catechism, St.Amant volunteering, etc etc....

While you wait in great anticipation (!), you might as well enjoy the single bit of blogging I did for my summer internship at the Manitoba Eco-Network.

Officially called the Summer Internship Program (SIP) under the Winnipeg Foundation, it is an extension of Youth in Philanthropy (post pending). I know this doesn't really apply to CAS guidelines, but the unique nature of the program (besides getting paid) would cover all aspects of CAS; creativity, action, service. Basically, it allows youth, like myself, to be further exposed to the facets of non-profit organizations. I was at an environmental organization; an experience that I greatly enjoyed considering my passion for the environment (specifically environmental toxicology and water issues). I worked with some amazing people, participated in a true (albeit relaxed) office setting and was exposed to both environmental issues and the inner workings of the organization. For more, read my post on "A Week in the Life" at the Manitoba Eco-Network.

That's it for now! I will hopefully be back for new (or somewhat new) CAS stories and pictures!
